In October 2005, 3C formed City Capital Asset Management (3CAM) to establish specialist hedge funds to complement the firm’s equity capital markets, advisory and broking businesses. 3C identified an opportunity in the fund management market to hire highly skilled and experienced fund management teams wishing to create and take equity participation in new specialist funds that they would build in partnership with 3C.

For each of the hedge funds formed to date, 3C has provided the platform and systems, access to fund distribution capability, administration and infrastructure support, and required seed financing. We now have two funds and will increase this number further. In addition, 3C benefits from a close relationship with Magdalen Family Office (MFO) in respect of cross referral of clients for the firm’s investment banking business and priority access for the firm’s specialist hedge funds. MFO offers an integrated wealth management service with presence/affiliations in London, Switzerland, Spain, Andorra and Bermuda.
